Noel Coughlan, a counsellor with 35 years of experience, offers a personalised approach to counselling. He tailors sessions of varying lengths to meet your specific needs. In addition to traditional counselling, Noel incorporates mindfulness and breathing practices, helping you to regulate emotions and live in the present moment.
Mindfulness is a practice that involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. By becoming more aware of thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, individuals can increase their freedom and choice in responding to situations. Noel offers introduction to mindfulness evenings and an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction program.
Mindful breathing offers a powerful way to develop awareness of mind, body, and emotions. Conscious connected breathing increases awareness of each breath, helping you tune into your body’s rhythms and go beyond habits of automatic thinking. These practices have been shown to enhance physical performance in sports, ease tension in restricted breathing, and support emotional regulation. By engaging with your breath, you can help calm the nervous system and open the door to deeper self-awareness and ease. Breathwork is also a valuable tool in body-based trauma therapy, and stress management. As part of his continuous professional development Noel is currently undergoing training various approaches to using breath practices with individuals and groups.
